Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Greetings!  I hope you are doing well.
I am inviting you to participate in the Mass for the Solemnity of Christ the King, the last Sunday in the liturgical year.  The Mass will be live-streamed at 10:15 a.m. on the parish’s Facebook page, St. Katharine Drexel Parish of Chicago.  “Click” on the following blue link that takes you directly to our Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/StKatharineDrexelParishChgo/live.
If you do not have internet access, you may participate in the Mass by dialing our toll-free teleconference number:  1 (978) 990-5000.  The access code is 883420.
At the Mass this Sunday, Ms. Lucille Dobbins will make her profession of faith as she completes her passage in the RCIA program allowing her to become a fully-fledged member of the Catholic Church.  We welcome Lucille with open arms and thank her for joining our faith community.
Please forward this information to your ministry partners, family, and friends who may be looking for a community to worship with on Sunday.  I welcome their participation in our liturgy!

Reminders:

Registration for next weekend’s Masses, Nov. 28-29, opens on Monday at 8:30 a.m. and closes on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.  Please register on the sign-up genius, https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040E4DAEAB2AA4F58-church, or you may call the parish office.  There are only 47-50 seats due to social distancing, so registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  We cannot register you in advance for the following weekend’s Masses!  It is not too late to register for this weekend’s Masses if you wish to attend!
You may also register for the Thanksgiving Day Mass on the sign-up genius or by calling the rectory.  Mass on Thanksgiving Day is at 10 a.m. and it will be live-streamed on Facebook.  For those attending in-person, you will have an opportunity to write on a piece of paper what you are grateful for this year.  For those viewing the service via Facebook Live, you may respond in the “comments” section.  This has been a difficult year for all of us, so my hope is that we all can find something to thank God for at this time of year.

The Parish Office will be closed from Wednesday, Nov. 25 through the end of the week.  We will resume our regular part-time hours on Monday, Nov. 30 at 8:00.  Reminder!  The office is open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The Midweek Prayer and Praise Service going forward is now held on Zoom every Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.  An “update” on Zoom information will be sent on Monday, Nov. 23.  We are still experiencing some difficulty in connecting.  I apologize to those who were unable to join this week’s service.  We are working to get things set up correctly.  I appreciate your patience.  Remember!  The teleconference phone number that was previously used on Wednesday evenings will not work with Zoom.  Please use the telephone number that I will send for Wednesday evening Zoom services.

Don’t forget!  The Fresh Moves Mobile Market will not be at the parish on Thursday, November 26 due to Thanksgiving.  The Mobile Market will return on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 10-11:30 a.m.  Remember to bring your mask!
Have a great day!  Remember to stay safe out there and to keep one another in prayer!

Peace,
Fr. Paul Whittington, O.P.
